Channel

Versabar channels are roll formed to the 1-5/8” (41.3mm) wide industry standard. The 1-5/8” wide dimension refers to the width across the channel base, and is common to all standard size strut systems. The illustration above shows three of the many available channel configurations. Channels are available in various depths, gauges, metals, and finishes. Combination channels are produced using both traditional welding methods and with a new and exclusive “Toggle Lock” operation which mechanically joins channels together. “Toggle Lock” channels have a superior finish and provide higher loading capabilities than welded channels.

Perforation Styles

All channels are available as a solid section or perforated along the spine as shown above. The oblong perforation style shown is the Versabar “PLH” pattern. Many other perforation styles are produced. Some different styles are described below:

1. PLH (Oblong hole 9/16” wide x 1-1/8” long)
2. P1.5 (9/16” round hole on 1-1/2” centers)
3. P1.87 (9/16” round hole on 1-7/8” centers)
4. P3S (13/32” wide x 3” long slot)
5. KO6 (1/2” Electrical Knockouts on 6” centers)
